The Boston Celtics defeated the Cleveland Cavaliers 96-89 in Game 6 of the 2008 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals on May 6, 2008, at The Q in Cleveland, Ohio. The Celtics now lead the series 3-2, forcing a Game 7 in Boston.

Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 22 points, while Ray Allen added 21 and Kevin Garnett had 19. LeBron James led the Cavaliers with 33 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics' strong defense.

The Celtics held the Cavaliers to just 37.3% shooting from the field, including 27.9% from beyond the arc. The Celtics also outrebounded the Cavaliers 47-38.

The Celtics led by just two points with less than four minutes to play, but they held the Cavaliers to just one field goal in the final three minutes to pull out the victory.
